Sample Case: The Importance of Molars in Dental Restoration and Full-Mouth Planning
Molars are incredibly important, whether it’s for absorbing force, chewing, or maintaining facial height.
Patients who need multiple teeth replaced (molars and front teeth) often request to only replace “just the front teeth.”
I always insist that the back teeth must be properly restored first, at least with removable dentures.
This is because if only the front teeth are replaced, there is a very high chance that the front teeth (which have a single root and are meant for “cutting” food) will break.
Therefore, planning—especially for full-mouth cases—must be thorough to ensure long-term functionality.
